On September 22, NIMI held a Ceremonial Blessing and Ribbon Cutting at 10 a.m. at the new office. Governor Brad Henry proclaimed September 22, 2009 as "National Indian Monument and Institute Day" in the State of Oklahoma. Clark Inkanish performed the blessing. Richard Grounds, Ph.D, NIMI Board Member, spoke on "Carrying Indian Languages into the Future." Alice Whitecloud, Chairperson of the Greater Tulsa Area Indian Affairs Commmission signed the Lord's Prayer. We appreciate everyone who participated to make this such a special day for NIMI!
